Two Doctoral Students - Adriona Kelly and Alexandre Trotier Present at the XIII European Meeting on

Doctoral students Adriona Kelly and Alexandre Trotier attended the XIII European Meeting on Glial Cells in Health and Disease from July 8th - July 11th, in Edinburgh UK. The European Meeting on Glial Cells in Health and Disease is the largest international meeting of glial researches, and invites participation from neuroglia researchers from all over the world.

Adriona Kelly presented her research on "A functional Analysis of Nanotopographically Modified Platinum Iridium Electrodes". In this study, Adriona has explored the feasibility of high-energy processing of the neuroelectrode interface to modulate cellular processes in vitro.

Alex Trotter also presented his research on "A Novel Model of Mechanically Induced Inflammation in a Primary Culture Using Parallel Flow Plate Shear Stress". In this study, Alex is developing a model of mechanically induced neural inflammation with an aim to assessing biomaterials approaches to reducing glisosis in vivo following neuroelectrode implantation.
